Box truck manufacturer is seeking guidance on how to make a composite panel commercial delivery size vehicle. This company has been making the standard aluminum shell solutions, but wants to develop a composite solution. Company has developed a design for a new airfoil that provides nearly 200% more lift and efficiency.  Seeking access to wind tunnel and identification of prototyping machine shop. (DMK)

Results: Immediate need for prototype resolved. Roadmap for future credible research established at Penn State and/or NASA Langley.  

 

Company makes hydration flasks and is seeking to onshore and automate their production. They have sussed out the robotics, and are seeking an expert on RF bonding TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane). Chinese manufacturer in the past has had issues with quality, but that has been resolved. (DMK)

Result: Lab provided a roadmap for the company to bring capability online. (project pending funding).

 

Company makes a compression dressing for wounds in non-tournequet locations. It is included in the DoD Medic kit. The solvent they use for bonding polycarbonate has always been problematic (noxious off gassing), but the product has been retired. They are seeking a non-solvent solution that will make assembly easier and faster. (DMK)

Company has innovated a new geometry for a catalytic converter. Present 3D printing and extrusion methods are insufficient to create a prototype, let alone thousands of articles. They are seeking a facility that can create a method to manufacturing these objects. (DMK)

Company has developed a method to dramatically reduce NOx emissions from Diesel exhaust with a patented urea mixer. The process allows for a leaner fuel mixture, increasing fuel efficiency and avoiding urea salts in the exhaust system. They are seeking government validation (DMK)
